Well done NASA - great to see the Christmas launch

The launch may not have had the drama of an Apollo or Space Shuttle launch - but it was a real treat on Christmas Day to see the James Webb Space Telescope safely on its way. Let us hope that all 300 points of engineering that have to work to get the telescope accurately in orbit around Lagrange 2 go smoothly. We will learn so much from June onwards once all the checks and settings are complete.

Maybe the European Space Agency could search for a person who could capture the drama of a space launch like Jack King - the NASA Public Affairs Officer who made the countdown for Apollo 11 so special. Years later he said that he still enjoyed hearing his countdown - so do I !!!

The great Jack King - the voice of the Apollo 11 launch
